Neighbour Aid -Volunteers Needed Neighbour Aid is always in need of more volunteers, you need to ring the Community Centre and ask about applying to become a volunteer. All volunteers are subject to a police check, and you must be over 18 years of age to apply. Volunteers help out at the different programmes that we run, and some are asked to help with meals and shopping tips for elderly. Seniors may need help getting to medical appointments, and if you are chosen to help out volunteering a drivers licence and vehicle insurance will be needed to be shown for us to keep on file. We are members of NSW Neighbour Aid & Social Support Services! Neighbour Aid Neighbour Aid – Joining Neighbour Aid is a community support group, to be apart of it you must meet the HACC Criteria, before you can join.Having said that here is what we can do for you. Do you need help with meals, shopping or transport to medical appointments. Do you enjoy Bingo, held every Wednesday 10.00am – 12 noon. Would you like to meet more people in your area. A number of programmes are available at the centre. Thursdays is our social day 10.00 am to 1.00pm, morning tea provided and a 2 course lunch provided. Frozen food service available Social Support – Neighbour Aid A variety of social and community activities for individuals are available at the centre and in the community. Centre Based Activities The Neighbour Aid program offers individuals a day at the Community Centre to enjoy morning tea, activities, with lunch and the company of many other people. The day commences at 9.30 am for morning tea with lunch at 12 midday. Medical Appointments Dependent upon the availability of our volunteers at Neighbour Aid, support and transport may be available to attend local medical appointments. Shopping, Bill Payment and Banking If volunteers are available we can help you go do your shopping, bill payment and banking. Home Visits Our team of volunteers and staff at Neighbour Aid can come and visit you to ensure that your social and individual needs are meet. Frozen Foods A range of freshly frozen healthy foods and nutritious meals are available for individuals to order and purchase, please contact our Neighbour Aid Coordinator to make arrangements.
